Darren - Head Veterinary Surgeon and Superintendent

Darren is our Head Veterinary Surgeon and Superintendent at Greenhills Veterinary Hospital.  

Darren graduated from Sydney University in 1992. His veterinary career started in mixed animal practice at the Bega Veterinary Clinic, before a short stint in Caringbah as a small animal veterinarian. Darren then travelled to England working in Southampton in large animal practice. He then moved back to Australia and set up his first practice in Forster on the mid-north coast. He now works as a manager of Cooks Hill Veterinary Clinic and Greenhills Veterinary Hospital.

Darren lives with his wife and their son on the farm where he keeps his multitude of animals including 13 horses, 8 dogs, 1 cat and multitude of wildlife. He really is a guy who really suits being a vet!

In the veterinary field Darren enjoys surgery, with a special interest in orthopaedic surgery and trying to take the best care possible of all his patients.

Darren enjoys riding his horses in the show jumping discipline and spending time on his farm with his family and animals in his spare time.

Darren is committed to focusing Greenhills Veterinary Hospital on providing the best veterinary care and the highest quality communication with pet owners to ensure our patients are cared for in the absolute best way possible.

Jeff - Veterinary Surgeon

Jeff graduated from Sydney university in 1983 with second class honours. He has worked in mixed practice at Gloucester, Maitland and Raymond Terrace, before working in Newcastle for 15 years in small animal practice.

Jeff has extensive experience in orthopedic surgery (ie: TTO, Tplo and Cruciate) and clinical work with special interests in cardiac and abdominal ultrasound.

He has 3 daughters, enjoys bicycle riding, bush walking and native gardening.

Tiarna - Veterinarian

Tiarna is one of our full time Veterinarians at Greenhills. 
She graduated from the University of Sydney in 2014. She started her career as a small animal veterinarian in Port Stephens, working there for two years before joining our team in 2017.
In the veterinary field Tiarna enjoys surgery and is developing an interest in orthopedics. She is also passionate about delivering the highest standard of care and treatment to all patients. 
Tiarna enjoys spending her free time outside- at the beach, snowboarding, horse riding and going on adventures. 
Tiarna has three dogs and one horse of her own that she enjoys spending time with.

Tracee - Veterinary Nurse Manager

Tracee is our Nurse Manager at Greenhills Veterinary Hospital. 

Tracee completed a diploma in Surgical Nursing and Business Management in 2012.

Tracee has an interest in all forms of Surgical Nursing and also has experience in Emergency Nursing!

Being our nurse manager Tracee is always very busy making sure the clinic runs smoothly and also training up all of our younger staff. 

Tracee has a kitty called Chloe and two teenagers. 

Tracee enjoys going to gym and travelling to go snorkeling and diving. 

Abbie - Head Veterinary Nurse

Abbie is one of our Senior Veterinary Nurses at Greenhills Veterinary Hospital. 

Abbie started working at the hospital in 2006 and completed her Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing in 2009.

Her main interests are Pathology, Cytology and Surgical Nursing. Abbie has also completed further education in all these fields. 

Abbie is one of our dedicated medical and surgical nurses and also plays a big part in managing the clinic on a day to day basis. 

Abbie owns a Foxie x Jack Russel called Pip.

Amy - Senior Veterinary Nurse

Amy is one of our Senior Veterinary Nurses at Greenhills Veterinary Hospital. 

Amy completed Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing 2010 and received an Award of Excellence for Surgical Nursing.

Amy is one of our valued medical nurses. She has a special interest in medical nursing and is always working to improve nursing care in the hospital. 

Amy also has a passion for physiotherapy and therapeutic massage and uses this skill as a part of our orthopedic patients recovery and rehabilitation program. 

When Amy isn't in the clinic looking after your fur babies she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and two dogs.

Cheri - Veterinary Nurse and Puppy Preschool Coordinator

Cheri is a valued member of the Greenhills team and holds her Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing completing her studies in 2015. She is highly passionate about her job and shows a special interest in all things puppies. She is the Puppy Preschool coordinator for the clinic and her classes are interactive,informative, highly sort after and always fun. She loves the bond she creates with the animals and their owners.

Cheri also enjoys Surgery nursing and gives high quality care and attention to her patients. 
When she isnt working she is busy with her kids and 9 animals. Cheri loves to read, go to the gym and lead a healthy lifestyle.

Lauren - Veterinary Nurse

Lauren is a Veterinary Nurse at Greenhills Veterinary Hospital. 

Lauren completed her Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing in 2016. 

Lauren enjoys medical and surgical nursing. She also has a special interest in Orthopedic surgery and Emergency Nursing and will be perusing further education in both of these fields. 

Lauren has 2 dogs and a horse which take up all her spare time when she's not at work. 

Zoe - Veterinary Nurse

Zoe began working for us in July of 2015 as a Veterinary Nurse TAFE student.

 Zoe completed her Certificate 2 in Animal studies in 2014 and her Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing in June 2016. 

She has a passion for caring and looking after animals, even if that means getting in their kennel and cuddling them. 

Zoe has a keen interest in Clinical Pathology and will be taking up extra study in this area, as well as doing her Diploma in Surgical Care, Emergency and Critical Care and her Diploma in General Practice. Zoe is a valued member of the Greenhills Team.

 Zoe has a Shih Tzu cross Lhasa apso named Tashi. 

Hannah - Head Receptionist

Hannah is our Head Receptionist at Greenhills Veterinary Hospital. 

She is the friendly face you will first see when you come into the clinic. 


Brenna - Receptionist

Brenna is one of our Receptionists and Trainee Veterinary Nurses at Greenhills Veterinary Hospital. 

Brenna is currently completing her Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing at Kurri Kurri Tafe and will complete her course in June 2017. She has also completed her Certificate 4 in Business Administration in 2016. 

Brenna loves animals and being able to help them in whatever way she can. She has also recently adopted a kitten by the name of "Petey"  who was handed in to us at the hospital after being found in a drain. 


James - Groomer

James is our Groomer at Greenhills Veterinary Hospital. 

Prior to joining our team James worked for one of Australia's most influential groomers. 

When James isn't at work he shows dogs all over NSW as well as having shown overseas! 

James shows Lakeland Terriers, Afghan Hounds, Lowchens and Poodles.

James's passion is Poodles and placed 3rd out of 10 in a grooming competition. 


Pet of the month

Henry

Most of us have Ibuprofen in our cabinets at home, it is one of the medications we take without a second thought, which makes it the most common toxicities in pets. Henry came into the clinic after the owner had realized Henry had eaten 8 tablets and was vomiting,and can also course stomach ulcer's other symptoms may occur over time that as a pet owner you may notice at home, such as Vomiting, Diarroeha, difficulty breathing, tremors, renal failure.

Henry has made a full recovery and enjoyed all of the cuddles from Nurse Lauren.
If you suspect your pet has eaten any medication contact your vet immediately.
